Not too terribly much to report this week. The new development that has been quite a surprise and help for the ole diet is my hubbie’s suggestion of the occasional replacement of dinner with a fruit and veggie smoothie. He made this suggestion quite a while back, and I insisted that I would not be satisfied and go to bed too hungry. Finally, I agreed to try it, with the clause that if I was going to die from hunger an hour later, we’d go get sandwiches. After finishing the delicious smoothie Greg made for me, I didn’t feel super full, but I didn’t feel hungry anymore. However, I was almost certain I’d be chowing down on a sandwich an hour later.
I was very pleasantly surprised a few hours later to find myself still feeling full-ish. Better yet, my blood sugar still felt very even, and I wasn’t having the almost uncontrollable urge to have chocolate! I did have a few more baby carrots at about 9:30, but that helped me get through the rest of the evening. I woke up the next morning not feeling insanely more hungry than usual! I was expecting unbelievably morning hunger pains, which I often have upon waking. I’m now a dinner smoothie believer! We’re going to be doing the smoothies for dinner thing a out 3 times a week until we both reach more comfortable weights.
